Stardate 6/12/2010
I'm pleased about the continued prosperity of both ironcityrocks.com iTunes podacast, and pittsburghlive.com, Pittsburgh musician network. Chris, the drummer in the Smicks sustained a bad knee injury. Ricky (of the Vogues, Peaches n' Herb) has been great filling in. The Smicks have a bunch of good shows over the coming weeks!
The job is good, being both busy and growing. My personal matters are fine.
2010 already feels like a long year. I should plan something for November...
3/20/2010 - I'll play the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Demons Women's Rollerderby team at the Romp 'N Roll in Shaler. 7pm.
3/21/2010 - See me perform with Rosa Colucci, a Spanish Music concert.
August 2009 Here is the certificate from Guinness.

Thanks to all the people who helped me with everything it took to get this done. We'll have a little party at my place or down at the Thunderbird Cafe sometime in June!

Guess what? I just set a new world record for guitar playing: 59 hours! I have of lot of work to do to get all the materials in to Guinness, so they won't be acknowledging it until 1st 1/4 of next year. I have ALL of the video, so I'll create the bunch of edits that Guinness wants, and I'm sure I'll be thowing it out there on all of those YouTube type sites.
I started at 5pm Thursday October 23rd and didn't stop until 10:30am Sunday morning. It was 1000 songs. That's a long set! My 'used to be' amish band The Smicks played along with me as part of a regular gig. The whole thing took place at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville. Me and the owner, John Pergal go way back. Sorry to the Thursday and Saturday night bands that played there, because all the witnesses and well-wishers were with me, taking up the green room the whole weekend. Thanks to them, but moreso, thanks to all who showed up, helped and supported this effort. It was fun.
Okay, it's 2:45 (10/23/2008), I'm updating this page for the past time before I go off to attempt a new Guinness record for continuous guitar playing at the Thunderbird Cafe.
CHECK myspace AND facebook for periodic updates and STUFF. I promise STUFF.
See me perform LIVE with The Smicks. electrifying amish rock.
OCTOBER 2008
Look in the October edition of Pittsburgh Magazine for a nice feature they ran on me regarding the Guinness record.
AUGUST 2008
I'm doing it again.
October 23rd - 26th at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville, I'm attempting to TAKE BACK the Guinness World Record for Continuously Playing the Guitar! To certify the event, I need WITNESSES. If you'd like to be a witness, please respond by email or phone (both below) to set up a time slot. Guinness has to verify the attempt as successful, and a necessary condition to that it having TWO witnesses present at all times. So why not YOU and a buddy, girlfriend, wife, bandmate do something different and show up to be an OFFICIAL WITNESS to the event.
Check the WITNESS SCHEDULE to see where people are still needed. You'll get some free CDs and you'll help bring a world record BACK to Pittsburgh.
